With backgrounds in sports, fitness, and a appreciation for mental health, we understand firsthand the transformative power of physical movement and the importance of addressing emotional well-being.
Our mission is simple – to provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can develop their strength, confidence, and resilience. We believe in the power of community, and through our collective experiences and dedication, we aim to empower the next generation with the tools they need to succeed both mentally and physically.

Founder & CEO
Jake Richardson
Jake Richardson is the CEO and Founder of Impact Therapy, a nonprofit program designed to empower youth by combining boxing and therapeutic conversations to promote mental wellness and physical strength. A former collegiate athlete and amateur boxer, Jake has spent over 14 years as a personal trainer and holds degrees in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. Drawing on his extensive background in fitness and sports, Jake created Impact Therapy to provide young people with a healthy outlet for stress relief and personal growth. His mission is to help youth develop resilience, mental clarity, and confidence through the powerful combination of physical movement and therapeutic support. Passionate about breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, Jake is dedicated to helping the next generation navigate life's challenges with strength and self-assurance.

Chief of Marketing
James Valerio
James Valerio is the Chief Marketing Officer for Impact Therapy. A lifelong athlete and former collegiate baseball player, James has always been passionate about sports and helping youth reach their potential. He founded and ran an afterschool baseball program for the San Francisco Unified School District, where he witnessed firsthand the transformative power of positive, structured activities for young people. James holds a degree in marketing with a specialization in digital marketing and currently serves as a Director of Digital Marketing for a medical startup while also consulting clients. With his expertise in digital strategy and marketing, James is committed to spreading the word about Impact Therapy and helping youth better understand and manage their emotions through physical and therapeutic outlets. He is dedicated to using his skills to bring more opportunities for growth and healing to the next generation.

Alexis Macaraeg
Alexis Macaraeg is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Impact Therapy. With a background in accounting, Alexis brings his financial expertise to help guide the organization’s fiscal responsibility and growth. Growing up in the Bay Area, Alexis has always been passionate about sports, seeing it as a way to stay in shape, relieve stress, clear his mind, and most importantly, have fun. As a father of two, Alexis is dedicated to creating opportunities for the next generation to build positive mindsets, learn leadership, and develop resilience. His commitment to helping the youth and the community aligns with Impact Therapy’s mission to support young people in understanding and managing their emotions through physical and therapeutic outlets. Alexis is excited to be a part of Impact Therapy and contribute to its vision of empowering the youth.

Sara Araghi
Sara is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager and Co-Director of Equity Research for Franklin Equity Group at Franklin Templeton. With over two decades of experience in finance, strategy, and leadership, along with being a mom of two, she brings an invaluable perspective to our mission of empowering youth through therapeutic boxing and mental wellness. A graduate of UC Berkeley, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder, and one of the San Francisco Business Times’ Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business (2021), Sara’s expertise and dedication to impact-driven initiatives make her an incredible addition to our team.
